[Remote] Cloud/AWS Architect

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Akkodis is seeking a Cloud/AWS Architect for a contract role, focusing on the design and implementation of secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure for large enterprises. The role involves leading architecture governance, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance and high availability. Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end cloud architecture—design, implement, and govern secure, scalable AWS (or Azure/GCP) infrastructure for large enterprise workloads • Assess and modernize workloads, develop cloud adoption roadmaps and business cases, and define target-state architectures aligned to customer needs • Design core infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking, security, logging, monitoring) using AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch/CloudTrail (or equivalents on Azure/GCP) • Establish high availability and resilience, including cluster provisioning, load balancers, caching layers, and master/slave architectures; implement DR/backup strategies • Drive architecture governance and best practices, create standards, reference designs, and thought leadership (whitepapers, seminars); mentor teams to build competency • Collaborate with stakeholders across dev, security, networking, and operations to ensure compliant, cost-optimized solutions, present architecture and recommendations to executives Skills • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field • Minimum 10+ years of experience in IT with at least 5+ years in cloud architecture and infrastructure design • Proven expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch) or equivalent Azure/GCP services, with strong knowledge of networking, security, and storage • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing large-scale, secure, and highly available cloud solutions, including Infrastructure-as-Code and migration strategies Benefits • Medical • Dental • Vision • Life insurance • Short-term disability • Additional voluntary benefits • EAP program • Commuter benefits • 401K plan • Paid Sick Leave • Holiday pay Company Overview • Akkodis Group Nordics, operates as a specialized tech cluster, combining expertise in Digital Engineering and Edge Technology.
