Medical Billing Virtual Assistant (1099 – Part-Time)

Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099) | Remote | Very Part-Time Hours & Pay: Up to 40 hours per month $15.00 per hour Flexible, project-based schedule About the Role: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Medical Billing Virtual Assistant to provide part-time, as-needed support throughout the month. This role is ideal for someone already working remotely in medical billing or credentialing who is looking to pick up a few additional hours on a flexible schedule. Work will be assigned in small batches and may vary week to week. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable jumping in to assist with ongoing billing and credentialing tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities: • Follow up on emails and payer communications • Assist with insurance credentialing and re-credentialing applications • Work insurance aging and follow up on outstanding claims • Support basic billing and revenue cycle tasks • Assist with miscellaneous administrative or billing-related projects as assigned Requirements: • Prior experience in medical billing and/or provider credentialing (required) • Familiarity with insurance portals and payer communications • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently • Reliable, responsive, and able to meet deadlines • Comfortable working in a remote, project-based environment • HIPAA-compliant work practices Ideal Candidate: • Currently works remotely in medical billing, credentialing, or revenue cycle management • Looking for supplemental income with flexible, low-hour commitment • Dependable and able to jump in on short-notice projects • Organized and able to manage tasks with minimal supervision Additional Details: • This is a 1099 independent contractor position • Hours will vary month to month but will not exceed 40 hours • Payment is issued monthly based on approved hours Job Types: Part-time, Contract Pay: From $15.00 per hour Benefits: • Work from home Application Question(s): • How many years of experience do you have in medical billing, credentialing, or revenue cycle management?
