**Job Summary**
We're seeking an experienced Remote Data Entry Clerk / Typing Specialist to join our data management team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for accurately and efficiently entering data into our database from paper documents. **Responsibilities**
As a Remote Data Entry Clerk / Typing Specialist, you'll be responsible for:
* Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
* Typing in data provided directly from customers
* Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
* Verifying data by comparing it to source documents
* Updating existing data
* Retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested
* Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation
* Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data to ensure it's not lost
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Proven experience as a data entry clerk
* Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
* Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
* Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
* Basic understanding of databases
* Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
* Great attention to detail
* High school degree or equivalent
**Essential Qualifications**
* 2+ years of experience in data entry or a related field
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Experience with database management systems (e.g., Microsoft Access, Oracle)
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience with data entry software (e.g., Data Entry Pro, Typing Master)
* Knowledge of data entry best practices and quality control procedures
* Experience with data analysis and reporting
* Familiarity with cloud-based data storage solutions (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox)
* Certification in data entry or a related field (e.g., Certified Data Entry Specialist)
