As a Technical Systems / Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in translating operational requirements into clear, compliant, and actionable technical documentation. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and client stakeholders to ensure solutions meet mission objectives, contractual requirements, and system performance expectations.
This role requires strong experience supporting asset visibility, logistics, and supply chain systems, with a particular focus on Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) and enterprise integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis:
Elicit, analyze, and document business, operational, functional, and non-functional requirements from government and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, Statements of Work (SOWs), and system specifications.
Technical Documentation & Traceability:
Translate business and mission requirements into detailed technical artifacts including:
• System Requirements Documents (SRDs)
• Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs)
• Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
• Data flows, APIs, and integration specifications
• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the system lifecycle.
RTLS, Asset Management & Logistics Systems:
Support design and implementation of solutions involving:
• Real-Time Location Systems (BLE, RFID, UWB, GPS)
• IT asset management and lifecycle tracking
• Supply chain visibility and logistics workflows
• Inventory, maintenance, and operational readiness systems
Developer & Architecture Support:
Partner closely with software engineers and architects to clarify requirements, refine user stories, define acceptance criteria, and resolve ambiguities that impact development and delivery.
System & Process Modeling:
Develop process flows, system diagrams, sequence diagrams, and data models to clearly communicate system behavior, integrations, and operational workflows.
Agile & Program Execution Support:
Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives while ensuring federal documentation and compliance requirements are met.
Change & Impact Analysis:
Assess impacts of requirement changes on scope, integrations, performance, security, and delivery timelines; clearly communicate impacts to program leadership and stakeholders.
Testing, UAT & Validation Support:
Support QA, system testing, and UAT by defining test scenarios, validating requirement coverage, and ensuring solutions meet mission and operational intent.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Serve as a trusted liaison between government stakeholders, program management, product teams, and engineering to ensure shared understanding and successful delivery.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting enterprise systems.
• Strong experience with:
• IT asset management systems
• Supply chain management and logistics platforms
• Asset lifecycle tracking and inventory systems
• Proven ability to translate operational requirements into technical documentation for development teams.
• Experience working with APIs, system integrations, and data models.
• Familiarity with requirements traceability, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in regulated environments.
