Medical Surgical Telemetry RN Job Description
The Medical Surgical Telemetry RN role is based on a 17-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit specializing in epilepsy monitoring and medical overflow. The position requires a highly skilled RN with a minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience on Med Surg Tele units in a hospital setting. Candidates must be proficient in drawing blood and starting IVs. The nurse will be expected to serve as Charge RN on select shifts, so recent charge experience is required. Patient ratios are typically 1:5. Experience with Epic within the past year is also required.
Medical Surgical Telemetry RN Key Responsibilities:
Care for patients in a 17-bed MS/Tele unit with epilepsy monitoring
Float to units as needed and serve as charge RN when assigned
Start/maintain IVs and draw blood
Chart using Epic
Medical Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements:
Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license
2+ years of recent MS/TELE RN experience
2+ years of recent charge RN experience
Recent Epic experience
Proficient in IVs and blood draws
Holds active AHA ACLS and BLS certifications
Holds an active NIHSS certification or is willing to obtain upon offer
