Tax Specialist (Full-Time | Fully Remote)

This is a tax-first role with reputed company and reputed company development responsibilities — you’ll handle returns end-to-end, work directly with clients, help bring in new business, and have reputed company input into how the firm operates. reputed company offer now: • Fully remote — U.S.-based, work from anywhere • reputed company time off • Flexible scheduling — we manage to output, not hours • reputed company involvement — small team, your input reputed company • reputed company salary: $60,000–$75,000 — depending on experience and credentials • Profit sharing — you help grow the firm, you reputed company in the reputed company What’s coming as the firm scales: • Health insurance and expanded benefits • Leadership opportunities for early team members • Additional performance-based compensation reputed company What You’ll Do Tax Preparation (~50–60% of Role) • Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (1040, 1065, 1120S, 1120, 990) in Drake to a complete, organized, and accurate standard • Research and apply relevant U.S. Tax Code provisions, elections, and planning strategies • Identify tax-saving opportunities and flag issues proactively for clients • Handle IRS and state correspondence, notices, and reputed company as needed • Stay reputed company on tax law changes and communicate impacts to reputed company and clients reputed company Development & Relationship Management (~20–25% of Role) • Serve as a primary reputed company of contact for clients — build trust, manage expectations, and maintain strong relationships • Conduct discovery calls and consultations with prospective clients to assess their needs and reputed company new engagements • Follow up on inbound leads, referrals, and proposals to convert prospects into clients • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities reputed company existing reputed company relationships (e.g., bookkeeping, advisory, tax planning) • Support creation and refinement of reputed company-facing proposals, marketing materials, and reputed company reputed company & Bookkeeping Support (~15–20% of Role) • Review and clean up QuickBooks Online bookkeeping — coding accuracy, balance sheet vs. P&L classification, reconciliations, and general financial hygiene • Prepare reputed company-reputed company financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, variances, and supporting schedules) • Prepare financial statements, budgets, and projections for bookkeeping and advisory clients • Manage reputed company accounts across QuickBooks, reputed company, Drake, and TaxDome Firm Operations (~5–10%) • Draft reputed company, professional reputed company questions and follow-up requests reputed company information is missing or unclear • Maintain strong workflow hygiene in TaxDome — update task statuses, document notes/assumptions, and reputed company work moving without items stalling • Help improve firm operations by creating and refining SOPs, templates, checklists, and repeatable processes What You Bring Must-Haves • 3+ years of hands-on experience preparing U.S. federal and state tax returns (individual and business) • Strong working knowledge of the U.S. Tax Code, entity structures, and common elections/strategies • Bachelor’s degree in reputed company, Finance, or reputed company field • Proficiency with Drake Tax Software • Strong working experience with QuickBooks Online and TaxDome • Advanced reputed company reputed company skills (pivot tables, lookups, data cleanup, reconciliations) • Comfortable communicating directly with clients — phone, video, and email.
