SEO Lead (Multi-Site)
Company: AZA Collective
Location: Remote / NYC (preferred)
Type: Contractor or Part-Time (with path to full-time)
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience + performance milestones
About the AZA Collective
The AZA Collective is a vertically integrated platform of NYC-focused brands spanning architecture, zoning/code, filings, inspections, construction execution, compliance, and property intelligence. We operate 20+ niche websites, each targeted to a specific compliance or operational problem. Our edge is execution and accountability. Your job is to make sure people can actually find us, and Google doesn’t treat our network like a random directory.
Role Summary
We’re hiring an SEO Lead to manage SEO across our entire multi-site portfolio. This is not a “sprinkle keywords and pray” role. You will own strategy, technical SEO, on-page, content planning, and performance reporting across multiple domains built on Lovable/Replit and standard web stacks.
You will work directly with ownership and our internal content/web team to build a repeatable SEO operating system across all brands.
Core Responsibilities
Technical SEO (multi-site):
• Run technical audits across all domains (crawlability, indexing, canonicalization, redirects, sitemap/robots, internal linking)
• Fix or coordinate fixes for Core Web Vitals, page speed, structured data, and mobile usability
• Build and maintain site-wide SEO standards for Lovable-based sites (templates, metadata patterns, schema)
On-Page SEO + Information Architecture:
• Create title/meta/H1 standards and deploy across site sections consistently
• Rework navigation + internal linking to improve topical authority and conversions
• Create “service area” structures for NYC targeting without spam
Content Strategy (AEO + Local SEO):
• Build an editorial roadmap for each brand (service pages, FAQs, blogs, location pages)
• Optimize FAQs for AEO / featured snippets and deploy FAQ schema
• Coordinate content briefs that match search intent and drive qualified leads
• Identify topics that support E-E-A-T (case studies, documentation approach, process pages)
Local SEO (GMB + citations):
• Optimize Google Business Profiles (where applicable)
• Manage citations and NAP consistency across the network
• Build a plan for reviews and reputation signals without violating platform rules
Analytics + Reporting:
• Own GA4, Google Search Console, and Looker Studio dashboards
• Track rankings, traffic, conversions, and lead quality by site/brand
• Produce a monthly “executive summary” report: what moved, why it moved, what’s next
Sites / Brands You’ll Support (examples)
• azark.com, aapc.nyc, bvs.nyc, arkco.nyc, violerts.com
• specialinspections.nyc, filings.nyc, moldsafe.nyc, adacomply.nyc, structureguard.org
• zoningnyc.com, compliant.nyc, firesafe.nyc, sidewalk.nyc, bds.nyc
• benchmarking.nyc, liveable.nyc, inspect.nyc, vps.nyc, az-title.com
• (And other affiliated brands as the portfolio evolves.)
What “Good” Looks Like (first 60–90 days)
• Clean crawl/index posture across domains (no duplicate/meta chaos, correct canonicals)
• Consistent SEO framework applied across all sites (titles, schema, internal links, tracking)
• Priority pages optimized and ranking movement visible
• Content roadmap delivered with briefs for top money pages and supporting clusters
• Dashboard live showing traffic + conversions by brand
Requirements
• Proven SEO experience managing multiple domains (portfolio or agency background preferred)
• Strong technical SEO: schema, canonicals, redirects, crawl diagnostics, CWV
• Able to work with modern site builders and imperfect stacks (Lovable, Replit, etc.)
• Strong writing/editing instincts (you don’t need to be a novelist, just accurate)
• Comfortable owning performance and being measured by outcomes
Nice-to-Haves
• Local SEO + Google Business Profile expertise
• Experience with service businesses (construction, compliance, professional services)
• CRO mindset (SEO traffic that converts, not vanity sessions)
• Basic dev literacy (HTML/CSS, page templates, tracking setup)
