SolidWorks CAD Engineer: Prepare Enclosure Design for Injection‑Molding (DFM + Production Files)

We have an existing SolidWorks enclosure originally designed for 3D printing (SLS pilot run). We need an experienced mechanical/CAD engineer to redesign it for injection molding (bolthires‑optimized for production in China) and ensure it fits a DIN‑rail modular form factor per DIN 43880 (incl. TE modular pitch) and 35 mm top-hat rail mounting (DIN EN 50022 / 35×7.5). Scope - Convert current CAD to injection‑mold DFM: draft, uniform walls, ribs/bosses, fillets, avoid thick sections/sink - Minimize tooling complexity (prefer simple 2‑plate mold, avoid side actions/undercuts) - Design/verify DIN‑rail mounting solution (clip/interface) and enclosure geometry compliant with DIN 43880 modular device constraints - Prepare a package that a mold maker can quote and build from ISO expertise required (must have) - Create drawings aligned with ISO GPS / GD&T (e.g., ISO 1101, datums per ISO 5459) - Apply sensible general tolerances (e.g., ISO 2768) - Familiarity with molded-part tolerance principles (e.g., ISO 20457) and fit concepts (e.g., ISO 286) is a strong plus Deliverables - Updated SolidWorks files (.SLDPRT/.SLDASM) with clean parametric feature tree - STEP exports (each part + assembly) - 2D drawings (PDF) with critical dims, datums, tolerances (ISO-based) - Short DFM summary + notes on DIN 43880 compliance (TE width concept, DIN‑rail clip approach, any tooling side-actions) Nice-to-have - Plastics/material know‑how for electrical enclosures (e.g., FR grades / UL94 V‑0, CTI ≥ 175, glow‑wire considerations) and how material affects DFM/bolthires To apply (please answer) - Share 1–2 examples of injection‑molded enclosures you designed (screenshots ok). - Have you designed any DIN‑rail mounted enclosures/clips? - What info do you need from us to start?
