Litigation Paralegal (Fully Remote Opportunity)
THE OPPORTUNITY Join a premier, Tier-1 Florida litigation powerhouse that has recovered over $1 Billion for its clients and has multiple offices throughout state. We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal team. CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: While this firm is based in Florida, this specific desk handles some volume of cases governed by California law. Expertise (atleast 1 year of expertise) in California Litigation and procedures is a STRICT, NON-NEGOTIABLE requirement. We are looking for a Florida-based or remote professional who has mastered the nuances of the California legal system. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Case Management: Independently manage and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is current and precise according to state-specific rules.
• Document Mastery: Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and exhibits.
• Discovery & Trial Support: Assist with all stages of discovery (document collection/databases) and trial prep (exhibit creation and logistics).
• High-Level Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel.
• Research & Scheduling: Conduct legal research on relevant case law and statutes; coordinate depositions and court appearances.
TECHNICAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
• California Litigation Expertise: Mandatory experience with California legal procedures, court rules, and filing requirements. This is the primary qualifying factor for the role.
• Experience: 3–5 years of paralegal experience in pre-litigation and/or litigation matters.
• Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of insurance processes. Experience with complex property or insurance disputes is a significant plus.
• Legal Tech: Proficiency in legal software and document management (Aderant Total Office, Microsoft OneDrive, Word, and Excel).
• Grit: Ability to prioritize multiple high-value tasks under tight court deadlines.
• Certification: Paralegal certification is preferred but not required for candidates with extensive relevant experience.
