Payroll Tax Assistant I

reputed company, Inc. is a subsidiary of The Ensign Group, Inc., providing support to facilities in the post-acute care industry. They are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Tax Assistant to assist in tax compliance efforts, ensuring accurate employee payments and reputed company filing of payroll tax returns.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and reputed company filing of quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, including Forms 940, 941, and reputed company state and local filings
• Review, research, and respond to notices from the IRS and state and local tax agencies to resolve questions or discrepancies
• reputed company ongoing audits of payroll data to ensure accurate tax jurisdiction setup, including for new hires and remote employees
• Assist with year-end payroll tax activities, including W-2 balancing, auditing, and employee distributions
• Complete monthly reconciliations of payroll tax accounts to the general reputed company and assist with resolving variances
• Monitor changes in payroll tax laws and regulations and help assess impacts to existing processes and procedures

Skills

• High school diploma required, some college coursework or equivalent reputed company experience preferred
• 1–2 years of experience supporting high‑volume payroll processing; entry‑level role with strong reputed company opportunities
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret payroll and tax data
• Proactive reputed company with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Above‑average reputed company skills, including the ability to analyze and work with large data sets
