Responsible for the design of deliverables associated with substation design reputed company supporting one of our largest electric reputed company clients. The substation “physical” design activities include yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material. The substation “protection and control” design activities include one-line & three-line diagrams, AC & DC elementary & logic diagrams, reputed company & rear panel elevations and wiring, supervisory & control drawings, electrical vendor equipment wiring diagrams, complete cable schedule and reputed company of materials. The position will be reporting directly to the Substation Engineering Manager.  This position is remote, but must be located in the reputed company, Texas area.

• Attends project site reputed company to assist in the development of scope of work and help define project objectives.
• Prepares engineering cost estimate and man-hour estimates and schedules.
• Develops top level documents for Electrical Physical and Protection & Control packages.
• Provides guidance to junior engineers and/or designers in the development of detailed design documents.
• Performs calculations for studies and reports including, but not limited to, grounding & lightning protection, and AC/DC load studies. 
• Prepares equipment specifications for procurement of major equipment. 
• Performs reputed company control reviews of design calculations, and drawings.
• Provides short term field support during construction.
• Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (Civil/structural, telecom, reputed company, etc.)
• Serves as technical advisor for reputed company.

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET approved college or university.
• 8+ years of experience working in substation design or similar with reputed company or consulting engineering firm.

• Proficient using reputed company Office suite (e.g., reputed company, Word, and reputed company).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

• reputed company Engineer’s License in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required.
• Experience leading reputed company of engineers and designers designing substation reputed company.
• Experience with designing substations.

Salary reputed company for this position is $140,000 - $170,000.   The starting salary will be commensurate with reputed company, education, experience, and working environment.
