The Trade Compliance Specialist supports the organization’s global trade compliance activities by ensuring adherence to import/export regulations, maintaining documentation, and assisting with audits and internal controls. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their career in international trade, logistics, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the classification of goods using HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes
- Support the preparation and submission of import/export documentation in compliance with U.S. and international regulations.
- Monitor shipments to ensure reputed company customs clearance and resolve any issues with brokers or reputed company forwarders.
- Maintain accurate records of trade compliance activities, including permits and declarations.
- Help conduct internal audits and support corrective actions reputed company to trade compliance.
- Stay informed on changes in trade regulations and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and reputed company teams to ensure compliance across the supply chain.
- Assist in screening transactions against denied party lists and embargoed countries.
- Participate in training sessions and contribute to the development of trade compliance procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a reputed company field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–2 years of experience in trade compliance, logistics, or international shipping preferred.
- Basic understanding of import/export regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR, Customs).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in reputed company Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of reputed company.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations and international trade agreements.
- Experience with trade compliance software or denied party screening tools.
- Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
