Job Description
What you'll do:
• Illustrate authentic texts for digital production. Our books currently use Shutterstock photos which we would like to replace with engaging illustrations that support early literacy development.
• Design and create academically relevant and culturally inclusive images to support texts.
• Collaborate with Curriculum Specialists to plan and revise illustrations.
• Follow guidelines regarding technical specifications for images and adhere to specific imagery that supports students’ understanding of the text, specific literacy skills, and comprehension questions students will answer as they read
Qualifications
You have the following skills, experience, and mindset:
• Minimum two years illustrating 2D vector illustrations using Adobe Illustrator or similar.
• Ability to work within constraints, follow deadlines, and respond positively to constructive feedback.
• A viewable portfolio of 2D illustration and graphic design work.
• Creativity and commitment to creating educational images that spark joy and engagement.
• You must be willing to do a skills test.
Bonus points for:
• Experience creating illustrations for K-2 students.
• Experience working in the tech industry.
Location: Fully remote (US).
Rate: $30-35/hour
Time Commitment:
• 2 - 40 hours per week, depending on your availability and our needs.
