Key Responsibilities • Review digital documents, articles, marketing assets, and reports for grammatical, typographical, and formatting errors. • Verify style guide compliance and editorial consistency across all content formats. • Work with AI-powered proofreading platforms and advanced grammar checkers to refine content accuracy. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX writers, editors, content strategists, and localization experts. • Maintain detailed version control using content management systems (CMS) and digital collaboration tools. • Provide feedback to authors and editors, identifying potential improvements in structure, tone, and readability. • Manage tight turnaround times without compromising quality. Required Skills & Experience Core Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field • 3+ years of experience proofreading digital content, ideally for tech-focused or publishing organizations • Advanced knowledge of grammar, syntax, spelling, and punctuation in American English • Familiarity with AP, Chicago, and in-house style guides • Strong command of digital editing software and proofreading tools • Demonstrated self-sufficiency in virtual work settings and proficiency in juggling several assignments across distributed teams Preferred Skills • Experience in proofreading technical documentation or marketing collateral • Comfortable with editing content for multilingual audiences • Knowledge of SEO best practices, especially in editorial formatting • Exposure to localization workflows and terminology databases Performance Metrics We value outcomes over hours.
