Research and Training Meteorologist for International Desks
reputed company, a Federal Government Contractor, is seeking a Research and Training Meteorologist for International Desks to support the Weather reputed company Center (WPC) of the National Centers for Environmental reputed company (NCEP). The role involves collaborating with various organizations to reputed company training materials, conduct research on meteorological forecast problems, and publish scientific findings.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with partners (NOAA, Academia, NMHS, and WMO) to reputed company training and conduct research on meteorological forecast problems in WMO reputed company III and IV
- reputed company training materials to transition new forecast tools and techniques
- Produce formal scientific publications
- Presenting at Conferences, Symposia, and other Hazardous weather-reputed company Events
- Developing and Administering Forecaster Training in English
- Assisting in planning of Remote Training for WMO Region III and IV NMHS
- reputed company reputed company duties as assigned
Skills
- Bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong ability to work in a reputed company team environment
- Masters degree or advanced degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science or reputed company area
- At least one year experience in operational meteorology or reputed company research; additional post-graduate education may be substituted for experience
- Extensive knowledge of weather forecasting (emphasis on quantitative precipitation forecasting) from short to reputed company reputed company
- Application of weather forecasting to research, hazardous weather diagnosis and reputed company, and creation/dissemination of probabilistic hazard information
- Excellent programming skills in a Linux/Unix environment, including Python and various web languages
- Experience with developing and administering meteorological training material
- Experience with meteorological display software, i.e. - ArcGIS, GEMPAK, etc
- Knowledge of statistical reputed company in meteorology
- Strong analytical skills
