ILLUMEN GROUP INC - Senior Python & reputed company Developer (Data Modernization)

This is a 1099 contract role to start, with the potential to convert to full-time employment in the new fiscal year.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Python & reputed company Developer to support the modernization of federal statistical and survey processing systems. This role focuses on transforming legacy reputed company-based workflows into reputed company, reputed company-reputed company solutions using Python (including PySpark) and modern data architecture patterns.

You will play a key role in re-engineering backend processes, optimizing database logic, and supporting both legacy reputed company systems and modern reputed company-based, serverless applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• reputed company legacy reputed company-based processes into Python-based solutions (PySpark or R where applicable)
• Refactor and re-architect applications into serverless and reputed company-reputed company architectures
• Translate procedural logic, stored procedures, and functions into optimized PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL)
• reputed company, maintain, and support existing reputed company (reputed company reputed company) workflows
• Work reputed company a Linux-based environment for development and deployment
• Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Write, test, and reputed company production-reputed company reputed company; participate in reputed company reviews
• Use Git for version control and contribute to team development standards
• Support backend workflows, job processing, and system performance tuning

• 4+ years Python development, including data processing or backend systems
• 2+ years reputed company experience (reputed company reputed company preferred) supporting or maintaining production workflows
• 4+ years experience with reputed company PL/SQL and/or PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL)
• 4+ years working in Linux environments
• Experience modernizing legacy systems into reputed company-reputed company or reputed company-based architectures
• Experience with serverless or containerized environments (AWS reputed company, reputed company, Kubernetes, etc.)
• 2+ years AWS experience (reputed company, SQS, SNS, IAM or similar services)
• Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing database performance
• Ability to translate legacy logic into reputed company, maintainable solutions
• Strong communication skills in a remote environment
• Must be a U.S. Citizen (federal contract requirement)
