As a Tech - Paint, you are responsible for seamlessly restoring the paint finish on vehicles. This role requires a unique combination of artistic skill, technical knowledge, and precise execution to match original paint finishes. The Paint Technician plays a crucial role in the final appearance of repaired vehicles, directly impacting customer satisfaction and the reputation of the organization.
Refinish-Spray (Paint)
- Use advanced color-matching technology to match vehicle paint colors accurately.
- Mix paint to create the perfect match for the vehicle’s original finish.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and applying primer.
- Ensure surfaces are flawless to achieve a smooth and even finish.
- Skillfully apply paint using spray guns, ensuring even coverage and proper thickness
- Apply base coats, color layers, and clear coats according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Master the art of blending new paint with existing paint on undamaged vehicle parts to ensure a seamless transition.
- Conduct finishing operations, including buffing, and polishing painted surfaces to achieve a high-gloss, durable finish.
- Identify and rectify any defects, runs, or imperfections.
- Monitor and control the drying and curing process to achieve the desired finish and durability.
- Follow recommended drying times and conditions for different types of paint.
- Inspect painted vehicles for quality, ensuring the finish meets or exceeds original factory standards.
- Address any issues or imperfections immediately.
- Maintain and clean paint booths, spray guns, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations related to paint application, including the use of protective gear and proper ventilation.
- Maintain records of paint colors used, materials, and work performed.
- Document any deviation from standard procedures.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations.

Position Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent, as well as vocational training or certification in automotive repair, is highly recommended.
- Experience in automotive painting or a related field is preferred, but on the job, training may be provided for candidates with foundational skills.
- Familiarity with the latest painting technology and equipment is a plus.
- Must be willing to wear required PPE.
- Excellent ability to distinguish subtle differences in color and shade for accurate matching and mixing of paint.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure that paint finishes are applied flawlessly, without imperfections.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including spray guns, for precise and controlled paint application.
- Understanding paint composition, application techniques, and the curing process to achieve durable and aesthetically pleasing finishes.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues with paint application and finish, developing solutions to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards related to handling and disposing of hazardous materials and the operation of painting equipment.
Physical Job Requirements
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Physical stamina to frequently kneel, bend and squat, as well as lift up to 45 pounds.
- If mobile, must be able to travel to assigned areas on a consistent basis.
- Must be capable of simple and fine motor hand manipulations.
- Work in ventilated automotive repair shops, refurbishing facilities, or outdoor paint booth facilities.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
The starting compensation is expected to be:
$52,000-$60,000/yearWe offer a competitive & comprehensive benefit package including: paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and 401k match (50% on the dollar up to 7% of employee contribution).
