For appointment to an Information Technology Specialist 2 Programming, you must have:
- A bachelor's or higher-level degree, including or supplemented by 15 credit hours in computer science courses.
OR
- A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and at least one year of the experience in information technology.
OR
- A minimum of 60 college semester credit hours including at least 15 credit hours in computer science courses and one year of the experience in information technology.
OR
- A total of two years of experience in information technology.
You must be currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title, eligible under the 55 b/c program, or eligible to transfer to this title under reputed company 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

Preferred Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated coursework in programming including, but not limited to:
- Application Development: includes coursework that teaches application design and development.

- Object Oriented Programming: includes coursework in the design and implementation of computer programs from the object-oriented reputed company of view.

- Demonstrated experience with Datacap development.
