Product Marketing Manager- WellnessMAP Application
About WellnessMAP
WellnessMAP is a new kind of personal health app — a personal experiment engine that helps people discover the specific lifestyle changes that work for their biology, instead of following generic advice. Users pick a condition or goal (from 200+ covered, spanning metabolic health, sleep, gut, skin, anxiety, inflammation, and more) and get a structured protocol grounded in Dr. Berg's four-factor framework: nutrition, fasting, targeted supplementation, and environment. The app tracks outcomes, learns what's working, and gets smarter over time.
Role Summary
We're hiring our first Product Marketing Manager — the person who will figure out who WellnessMAP is for, what to say to them, and how to say it in a way that actually gets them to download, subscribe, and stick around.
This is a foundational hire. You won't be running a playbook someone else built; you'll be building the playbook. You'll own positioning, messaging, launch strategy, and the go-to-market motion for a product that has real credibility, a real audience to tap into, and a complex story that needs a translator.
If you've spent your career at established brands managing launches that someone else architected, this probably isn't the right fit. If you've taken a zero-to-one consumer health or wellness product from "nobody knows about this" to "this has a clear audience and a working GTM engine," keep reading.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
What You'll Do
In your first 30 days, you'll audit everything — our current messaging, the competitive landscape, the Dr. Berg audience and how it does (and doesn't) overlap with the WellnessMAP target, our app store presence, and what's actually converting. You'll come out of that month with a positioning document that becomes the foundation for everything downstream.
During days 30–90, you'll build and execute a real GTM plan: app store optimization, a landing page that converts, an email nurture sequence that warms up the Dr. Berg audience without burning it, and two or three content pieces that stake out WellnessMAP's point of view in the crowded wellness conversation.
By day 90, we should have a clear, testable messaging framework and the first real data on what's resonating.
Ongoing, you'll own:
- Positioning and messaging across the entire funnel — website, app store, ads, email, in-app, lifecycle
- Audience segmentation and the specific value propositions that land for each segment
- Launch strategy for new features, protocols, and campaigns
- Content and demand generation strategy (you'll eventually hand off execution — more on this below)
- Competitive intelligence and market positioning as the personalized-health category heats up
- Cross-functional work with product, the Dr. Berg content team, and leadership to make sure the story is consistent everywhere a user encounters us
What we’re looking for
Required Experience
- Translation ability is the single most important trait.
- Experience taking complex topics and breaking them down to simple messaging translation without losing the technical message
- WellnessMAP is built on a real framework with real science behind it. Our audience is savvy — they've been marketed to aggressively and they can smell generic wellness-speak from a mile away. We need someone who can take something complex and make it feel simple and personal without dumbing it down. The difference between "optimize your metabolic health" and something that makes a specific person think "oh, this is for me" — that's the gap you need to close, every day, for every segment.
- Zero-to-one experience in consumer health or wellness.
- Experience leading a consumer health/wellness product launch all the way
- You've launched a product (or a major new line) from nothing or near-nothing. You know how to prioritize when you don't have a big team or a big budget, and you know what to cut. We'll ask you to walk us through a launch you actually led — not one you joined mid-flight.
- A systems thinker, not just a talented writer.
- Ability to design and scale content systems
- Early-stage PMMs often get pulled into writing everything themselves because they can. The ones who scale build the machine that produces and distributes content at scale, then hand off execution. We want the second kind. You should love designing the system more than you love being the system.
- Regulatory instinct.
- Experience with regulatory copy and have a clear understanding of health/wellness claims
- Wellness apps live in a gray zone — we don't make medical claims, but we're adjacent to them. You should know where the line is between authoritative and problematic without needing a lawyer to check every draft. If you've written copy for supplements, functional medicine, or health tech, you already know what we mean.
Preferred Experience
- Experience at consumer health/wellness brands that had to earn trust and educate their audience (Noom, Levels, Whoop, Calm, Eight Sleep, Oura, Thirty Madison, Ro, Hims, and similar)
- B2C experience at companies known for strong marketing operations (HubSpot, Drift, and similar on their consumer-side work)
- Reforge training or equivalent
- Background in the creator-led product world — you understand both the leverage and the pitfalls of building a product behind a well-known personality
- Working knowledge of ASO, lifecycle marketing, and conversion analytics
Work from Home Requirements
- Up-to-date Mac or Windows computer with anti-virus protection
- Reliable high-speed internet connection
- Quiet, distraction-free workspace
- Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new tools and software
- Must be comfortable and experienced using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, OneDrive)
What You'll Get
- The chance to own the messaging and GTM for a product with real credibility, a real audience, and real ambition — at the moment it's still being shaped
- Direct access to leadership, including Dr. Berg and the executive team — no layers, no politics, no waiting for approvals
- Competitive salary, benefits, and room to grow as WellnessMAP grows
- A team that moves fast and expects the same
