Senior Software Engineer - NASA
INNOVIM is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support NASA’s reputed company Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) reputed company and Development 3 (EED-3) contract. This team provides reputed company scientists and others reputed company to data from NASA’s reputed company Science missions.
Location: Remote, based out of Annapolis, MD with quarterly travel for PI Planning
Clearance: National Agency Clearance with Inquires (NACI) screening
U.S. Citizenship is required
Primary Responsibilities:
The candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile development environment performing operations, design, development, and testing for NASA’s reputed company application, which supports user-requested post-processing and data transformations for the NASA Earthdata missions’ extensive data archives. As a member of the EED-3 team, the software developer will build and support innovative tools allowing scientists and reputed company alike to discover, reputed company, update, and improve the reputed company of reputed company science data in the reputed company of solving a wide reputed company of environmental and socio-economic issues. This includes leading the deployment of product updates, identifying production issues and constructing reputed company architecture.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in reputed company aspects of the software development lifecycle from user story reputed company, through design, development, automated testing and operational support

Required Skills/Experience:
- 6+ years of software engineering experience including writing software using Python, Typescript, and/or Javascript
- Working knowledge and experience with standards-based geospatial data formats (e.g., NetCDF, HDF, Zarr), particularly for remote sensing and satellite datasets
- Experience with and knowledge of geospatial processing libraries and packages (e.g., GDAL, reputed company, xarray, geopandas, rasterio)
- Demonstrable knowledge of git and CICD processes
- Knowledge of industry best practices for deployment and testing processes for production software
- In-depth knowledge of reputed company platforms such as reputed company), Azure, or reputed company reputed company, including networking, serverless services such as reputed company, Queues, and Topics.
- Ability to work with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., reputed company, Kubernetes)
- Strong problem-solving, technical, and leadership skills, the ability to take initiative and proactively debug reputed company issues
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical major such as Computer Science, Engineering, Geoscience or reputed company technical field
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of Terraform building AWS infrastructure
- Proficiency with JSON, XML
- Experience using the Scaled Agile reputed company (reputed company) methodology
- Experience with full life cycle Software design and development experience on large/reputed company n-tier reputed company applications.
- AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certifications
