Content Team Lead & Website Product Owner (m/f/d)

Location: Porto, PT

Job Overview

We are looking for a Content Team Lead & Website Product Owner to lead our content and website/SEO teams and take full ownership of our corporate website. This role combines leadership, product ownership, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the website delivers exceptional user experience, supports business goals, and evolves with digital trends.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team of content and SEO specialists and collaborate with internal stakeholders—including Marketing, Group Brand & Communications, Sales, HR, IT, and Legal—to define and execute the website strategy. You will also oversee our external digital agency to ensure high-quality delivery.

A key part of this role involves overseeing content creation, publishing, and governance across multiple channels. You will manage a high volume of content, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with brand guidelines. Strong project management skills are required to coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables across teams and partners.

In addition, you will be accountable for the website’s performance and KPIs: working closely with our Data & AI team and tracking specialists to define measurement frameworks, ensure correct implementation of tracking, and use insights to drive continuous improvement.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a key digital touchpoint and drive its transformation into a high-performing, user-centric, and data-driven platform.

Shape

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

· Lead and develop a cross-functional team of copywriters and SEO & content managers.

· Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team.

· Ensure alignment between team outputs and strategic goals across website, campaigns, and communications.

Website Product Management

· Own and evolve the website strategy and product roadmap in alignment with business objectives and user needs.

· Act as Product Owner in an agile setup: manage the backlog, prioritize features, and ensure timely delivery.

· Manage the external digital agency, including briefing, coordination, and quality assurance.

· Act as the primary functional owner of the website platform and tech stack (CMS, integrations, tracking), working closely with IT, developers and vendors.

· Ensure technical scalability, security, and compliance in partnership with IT and vendors.

· Co-own the website measurement framework with the Data & AI team: define KPIs and events, ensure correct implementation via tag management (e.g. GTM) and analytics tools (e.g. GA4), and validate data quality.

· Drive UX and performance improvements through data-driven insights, A/B testing, and user feedback.

· Stay current with digital trends and technologies (e.g. headless CMS, Core Web Vitals, privacy & consent, tracking best practices) to continuously improve the platform.

Content Management

· Own and maintain the content diary and content backlog, ensuring a consistent and strategic flow of content across the website and other digital channels.

· Ensure all content adheres to tone-of-voice guidelines, brand standards, and legal requirements.

· Collaborate with internal teams to gather content requirements and ensure alignment with marketing, sales, and brand goals.

· Define and track content KPIs and translate insights into concrete backlog items and optimization initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

· 7+ years of experience in website management or digital product ownership—ideally in a B2B or corporate environment.

· Several years of experience in people management and working with agile teams.

· Strong understanding of web technologies and architecture (e.g. CMS concepts, APIs, front-end basics, performance, accessibility) and ability to work productively with developers.

· Hands-on experience with web analytics and tracking (e.g. Google Analytics 4, tag management such as Google Tag Manager, event and conversion tracking, dashboards, KPI definitions).

· Solid knowledge of UX/UI principles and SEO (technical and content).

· Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capabilities.

· Strong project management skills, including experience managing timelines, resources, and cross-functional teams.

· Confident and assertive communication skills with a strong ability to manage a big variety of stakeholders.

· Extensive experience with a large volume of content management, CMS platforms and content governance.

· Degree in business, marketing, communications, digital media, computer science, or a related field.

· Excellent written and spoken English; German, Portuguese, Spanish, or Chinese language skills are a plus.

We offer you

· Possibility of working from home – we care about results, not locations.

· Training budget for each employee – we care about the growth of our people.

· Private health insurance – we care about health on and off working hours.

· 3 additional vacation days – we care about free time.

· A home for passionate people who innovate, collaborate and love what they do.
