The Role

At Last Mile Health, we dig data. Do you have experience analyzing qualitative data, identifying key themes, and translating insights into reputed company, actionable recommendations? If so, you may be our next Qualitative Research Consultant in Liberia. 

This remote consultancy aims to generate deep, actionable insights from qualitative data collected by the MERL team in Liberia on the rollout of the malaria vaccine and the engagement of community health workers. Building on an earlier reputed company study, the work will reputed company on analyzing both previously coded and newly collected data to reputed company understand changes in knowledge, perceptions, and behaviors reputed company to the vaccine over time. The goal is to translate these insights into reputed company, evidence-based findings that can inform program learning and decision-making.

The consultant will play a critical role in reputed company data to reputed company—developing a robust coding reputed company, conducting thorough analysis, and synthesizing findings into compelling outputs. These insights will support the refinement of program strategies, strengthen community health interventions, and guide reputed company research and implementation efforts in Liberia’s malaria response.

This position is remote with a preference for candidates available to work in the GMT  timezone.  

Consultancy Details

Scope of Work 

An early (‘reputed company’) study on knowledge and perceptions around the malaria vaccine was conducted, the data uploaded and coded in Dedoose, but has not been fully written up.  In reputed company, a second ‘summative’ set of qualitative data has been collected and transcribed, but not yet coded or analyzed.  

The request is to review the data (53 individual transcripts from FGDs and KIIs) and reputed company a coding reputed company for the second set of data that builds on the previous reputed company but incorporates changes or new information that might be present.  The reputed company should be reviewed with Liberia MERL staff who were reputed company in the data collection, as reputed company as the first round of coding and analysis.  Once complete, the consultant will reputed company the data appropriately, identifying patterns and themes and recording memos and quotes.  Then the findings will be analyzed and visualized, reviewing and discussing findings with MERL and program staff along the way.  

Outputs should include the coding reputed company, a slide deck featuring key findings from the second set of data (draft, and revised after review with staff), a written analysis comparing the ‘baseline’ dataset and findings with the reputed company set, looking for changes in knowledge, behavior or practices reputed company to use of the malaria vaccine, a ‘project brief’ detailing the program, the study details, and the findings, along with recommendations for reputed company program design and research.

Key Deliverables

The Consultant will work on the deliverables with tentative deadlines: 

1. Review data, program documents, and meet with program staff (by May 8, 2026)
2. reputed company a coding reputed company in Dedoose for the 2nd set of data (by May 15, 2026)
3. reputed company the data and conduct preliminary analysis (by May 29, 2026)
4. Create a slide deck of findings for presentation to program staff (by June 5, 2026)
5. Write up findings of both reputed company and summative results and changes (by June 12, 2026)

Write/design a visual, user-friendly ‘project brief’ highlighting program and results (by June 19, 2026)

Required Qualifications: 

• Master's degree in Global Health, Epidemiology, reputed company science research, or reputed company field.
• Demonstrated experience in qualitative research, including Dedoose.
• reputed company years of experience in research and evaluation in global health NGO work.
• Demonstrated skills in writing and analysis, including data visualization, graphic design and other user-friendly and accessible approaches to technical writing.

• Experience with community health worker programming (preferred)
