The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist, Software Quality Engineering to join our System Quality team. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing software quality for our iOS and macOS platforms through data-driven insights and innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist in our System Quality organization, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities that are essential to our mission. Your day-to-day work will involve:
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Conducting advanced data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can inform software quality improvements. You'll translate complex datasets into actionable recommendations for our engineering teams.
- Pipeline Development and Maintenance: Building, developing, and maintaining robust distributed data pipelines that support our quality engineering initiatives. This includes working with technologies like Cassandra, Spark, and Airflow to ensure efficient and reliable data flow.
- Tool Creation and Support: Developing and supporting analysis tools that enable our teams to effectively monitor and improve software quality. You'll create dashboards, reports, and visualizations that make data accessible and meaningful.
- Experimental Design: Designing, leading, analyzing, and interpreting tests and assessments to evaluate software performance and quality. You'll establish methodologies that provide statistically significant insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with Engineering, QA, and Product teams to integrate data-driven approaches into our software development lifecycle. You'll serve as a bridge between technical teams, translating data insights into practical improvements.
- Data Processing: Handling various stages of the data science process, including data collection, cleaning, extraction, transformation, loading, analysis, and modeling. You'll ensure data integrity and quality throughout the pipeline.
- Innovation and Improvement: Continuously exploring new approaches, tools, and methodologies to enhance our data science capabilities and software quality practices.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need to bring a combination of technical expertise, analytical mindset, and passion for quality. The following qualifications are required:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Technical Experience: Hands-on experience with distributed computation, storage, and workflow management systems. Familiarity with Cassandra, Spark, and Airflow is highly desirable.
- Data Science Skills: Proven experience with the full data science lifecycle, including data collection, cleaning, extraction, transformation, loading, analysis, and modeling. You should be comfortable working with large-scale datasets. Analytical Abilities: Strong experience designing, leading, analyzing, and interpreting tests or assessments. You should have a solid foundation in statistical analysis and experimental design.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and data communication skills. You must be able to present complex findings in a clear and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
