Position Overview
As a Financial Accountant at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in maintaining our financial integrity and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. You will be responsible for supporting complex accounting activities, preparing financial reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive organizational success.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Collect and review financial information to prepare comprehensive financial statements and regulatory reports that meet industry standards and organizational requirements.
- Account Reconciliation: Prepare and review account reconciliations and confirmations to ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial records, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Perform complex exercises related to maintaining general ledger accounts, including journal entries, adjustments, and month-end closing activities.
- Financial Control Functions: Execute ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies, ensuring compliance with established procedures and best practices.
- Process Improvement: Investigate and recommend improvements to financial accounting processes, techniques, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Regulatory Compliance: Provide support for compliance and risk management requirements, ensuring all financial activities align with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders throughout the organization to coordinate financial activities and achieve common objectives.

Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Analysis, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting, or Risk Reporting. Equivalent experience may be demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices, and standards.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to diverse audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation and reporting.

- Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications would be highly advantageous:
- Regulatory Reporting Experience: 2+ years of experience with SEC/regulatory quarterly reporting processes and requirements.
- Industry Knowledge: 1+ year of credit card industry reporting experience and knowledge of corporate/business loan products.
- Professional Certification: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Big 4 or Public Accounting Background: Experience working with Big 4 or regional public accounting firms or financial services industry.
- System Expertise: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Essbase/SmartView and familiarity with automation tools for general ledger reconciliations.
- Internal Control Experience: Experience with COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment implementation.
- Technical Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of US GAAP financial statements with the ability to interpret and summarize complex data into understandable, meaningful information.
- System Knowledge: Familiarity with Fiserv systems and platforms.
- Leadership Experience: Military knowledge or leadership experience including operational management, project management, mission management, and financial management.
