Join arenaflex as a Software Engineer – Shape the Future of Airline Operations Technology

Are you ready to make an impact? At arenaflex, we're revolutionizing how airlines manage their most critical operations – from flight scheduling to crew coordination. We're seeking a talented and passionate Software Engineer to join our dynamic technology team and help build innovative solutions that keep aircraft moving and passengers connected.

This isn't your typical software role. At arenaflex, you'll be working on complex, high-impact systems that directly affect how airlines recover from disruptions, optimize resource allocation, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Our Schedule Recovery Solutions (SRS) platform is at the heart of airline operations, and we need a skilled engineer to help us push the boundaries of what's possible.

At arenaflex, we believe in the power of technology to transform industries. Our team is comprised of innovators, problem-solvers, and forward-thinkers who are passionate about creating solutions that matter. We value diverse perspectives, creative thinking, and the courage to tackle challenges that others might avoid.

In the fast-paced world of aviation, every second counts. Our scheduling and recovery systems help airlines minimize disruptions, reduce costs, and ensure that passengers reach their destinations on time – even when unexpected challenges arise. As a member of our team, you'll be contributing to technology that touches millions of travelers every day.

What You'll Do

As a Software Engineer at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in the development and enhancement of our Schedule Recovery Solutions (SRS). This platform enables airlines to recover plane and crew schedules holistically, resulting in improved customer support, reduced disruption costs, and optimized group resource utilization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and applications for large-scale proprietary use
  • Participate in software design meetings and analyze user requirements to determine technical specifications
  • Ensure in-development builds follow approved architectural designs and coding standards

  • Participate in peer code reviews using Java and related technologies
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Digital Technology teams, and Business stakeholders on scoping, evaluation, case development, and systems integration

  • Develop and maintain microservices architecture with REST APIs
  • Build and enhance cloud-based solutions using AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS, etc.)
  • Work with messaging platforms including TIBCO, Kafka, MQ, and similar technologies
  • Develop software code and unit tests in Java, Spring (Boot, Data, Batch, Security)
  • Implement and support DevOps practices, including AWS CI/CD pipelines
  • Build responsive Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Angular, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bootstrap, and CSS3
  • Mentor and supervise small teams of contractors in application development when needed
  • Apply strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve challenges that maximize IT and business investments
