About the Role

The Senior Account Manager for RWE Clinical Trials will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our clinical research business. This position offers an exciting entrepreneurial experience for candidates who have demonstrated success in winning new clients and understand the development of new treatments, Phase I-IV clinical trials, clinical operations, and health economics outcomes research (HEOR). You will be responsible for managing and growing a designated portfolio of client accounts while ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and strategic account development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Account & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients in the RWE clinical trials sector. Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned accounts.
  • Revenue Achievement: Drive and achieve targeted sales within assigned client accounts while consistently meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Business Development: Develop existing client accounts to uncover new business opportunities across RWE Clinical Trials verticals, including patient enrollment, Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCT), HEOR, epidemiological studies, and post-marketing studies.
  • Strategic Account Planning: Lead client account strategy and development through comprehensive strategic and tactical account planning in partnership with scientific research delivery teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with sales operations, finance, and other internal support functions to drive and close business while achieving sales approval targets.
  • Consultative Selling: Conduct consultative, proactive sales activities targeted at executives and decision influencers at both existing and new client contacts.
  • Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and qualify opportunities, including defining solution proposals and recommending pricing structures to meet strategic objectives.
  • Project Coordination: Act as the primary contact until project Kick-Off (KO), then coordinate with relevant business areas to ensure successful execution and delivery.
  • Proposal Development: Lead and assist in crafting responses to proposal cycles with the proposal team, delivering timely and compelling proposals to clients.
  • Bid Defense Strategy: Coordinate bid defense strategies, ensuring targeted offering aligns with client objectives and competitive positioning.
  • Client Expansion: Lead efforts to close potential new clients for clinical trials as part of objective sales targets and identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts to increase account penetration.
  • Cross-Functional Problem Solving: Provide a collaborative, client-facing, problem-solving environment with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Systems teams to enhance arenaflex's clinical trials market leadership.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Analytical, sales, or marketing background with a focus on the pharmaceutical/biotech sector. Proven track record of developing mid-to-senior level business contacts.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and integrate effectively with Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams while building relationships and pursuing business opportunities.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Clinical Trials, Decentralized Trials, and RWE trends in the healthcare industry.
  • Business Development Skills: Demonstrated ability to identify and develop prospects, create professional presentations, manage sales cycles through close, and handle contract negotiations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in sales automation systems and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Project Management: Experience collaborating with internal or external resources to develop strategies that meet departmental goals within budget and established timelines.
  • Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (both within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in a related field
  • Previous experience in Real-World Evidence,HEOR, or clinical research services
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry dynamics and healthcare market access
  • Experience with decentralized clinical trial models and patient recruitment strategies
