Join arenaflex as a Senior Analytics Engineer
Are you ready to transform raw healthcare data into powerful insights that improve patient outcomes and drive organizational success? arenaflex is seeking a talented Senior Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic Healthcare Analytics team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams of data investigators, BI engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver performance insights across arenaflex Health. This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of healthcare data innovation, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to create meaningful impact in the medical industry.
At arenaflex, we believe that data is the cornerstone of modern healthcare improvement. Our Healthcare Quality Improvement program relies on sophisticated information systems that enable report automation and knowledge commercialization. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers these initiatives. You'll work alongside talented professionals who share your passion for using data to make a real difference in healthcare delivery.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of health data and insights initiatives that directly impact our ability to serve patients effectively. Your technical expertise will be crucial in supporting both long-term strategic data projects and ad-hoc analysis requests that arise from evolving business needs. You will serve as the primary technical lead for data engineering activities that enable reporting and analytics across the organization.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing, developing, and deploying layered databases and data pipelines that support our reporting and analysis projects. You will create data staging and preprocessing standards to populate logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables, ensuring both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions have access to accurate, timely information. Your work will involve applying data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal production system sources and third-party files.
You will perform comprehensive data profiling and analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data repositories, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility information, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS files. Additionally, you will develop internal tools to automate all development-related activities including data processing, quality assurance, and data validation, driving efficiency across the entire analytics team.
What We're Looking For
We seek a candidate with proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts. You should have experience designing and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake. Your background should include experience providing thought leadership and presenting tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to BI technology platforms like PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you will be working closely with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners. You should bring at least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace and a minimum of 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team management experience. The ability to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes, both within state and out of state, is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with Data Management Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) credentials will be given priority consideration. Experience with pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts is highly valued and will enable you to hit the ground running in our complex healthcare data environment.
