Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Account Manager to lead the growth and management of our RWE Clinical Trials business segment. This role is pivotal to our success, as you will be responsible for driving client acquisition, expanding existing account relationships, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction across our portfolio of real-world evidence clinical studies, decentralized clinical trials (DCTs), epidemiological research, and post-marketing surveillance programs.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in business development within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical research industries, coupled with exceptional relationship management skills and a deep understanding of the clinical trial landscape. You will serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, leading consultative sales activities and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Account Management: Maintain and grow strategic client relationships while ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction across all assigned accounts.
  • Business Development: Drive new business opportunities within assigned accounts by identifying expansion opportunities across our service verticals, including patient enrollment, Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCTs), Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), epidemiological studies, and post-marketing studies.
  • Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies in partnership with scientific research delivery teams to achieve both tactical and strategic objectives.
  • Sales Excellence: Lead consultative, proactive sales activities targeting executives and decision-makers at existing and prospective client organizations. Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Solution Development: Define tailored solutions and recommend pricing structures that align with client strategic objectives while meeting arenaflex's revenue and growth targets.
  • Project Coordination: Serve as the primary client contact through project kick-off (KO), then collaborate with relevant business units to ensure successful execution and delivery.
  • Proposal Management: Lead and support the development of compelling proposals and bid responses, ensuring timely delivery to clients and adherence to quality standards.
  • Pipeline Management: Coordinate Bid Defense strategies, ensuring proposed offerings align with client objectives and competitive positioning.
  • Revenue Growth: Lead efforts to close new clinical trial business and achieve designated sales targets while expanding penetration within existing accounts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Sales Operations, Finance, Marketing, and other internal support functions to drive business growth and achieve sales approval targets.
  • Relationship Building: Foster a collaborative, client-facing problem-solving environment with internal stakeholders to enhance arenaflex's leadership position in the clinical trials marketplace.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required. Degrees in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related fields are preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Proven track record in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical research industries with a focus on business development, account management, or client services.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of clinical trial phases (Phase I-IV), Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCTs), Real-World Evidence (RWE) trends, and healthcare research methodologies.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated history of developing and nurturing mid-to-senior level business relationships and driving revenue growth.
  • Sales Skills: Exceptional ability to identify and develop prospects, create professional presentations, manage sales cycles through closure, and negotiate contracts effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to integrate and collaborate effectively with Operations, Finance, Marketing, and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in sales automation systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Project Management: Experience collaborating with internal or external resources to develop strategies that meet departmental objectives within budget and established timelines.
  • Travel Availability: Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (both within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Direct experience with RWE clinical trials, decentralized trials, HEOR, or epidemiological studies.
  • Existing relationships with key decision-makers in pharmaceutical, biotech, or contract research organizations (CROs).
  • Knowledge of healthcare market access and regulatory considerations.
