Remote Instructional Designer - EdTech Curriculum Development
Our client, a forward-thinking Educational Technology company, is seeking a creative and experienced Remote Instructional Designer to develop engaging and effective online learning content. This fully remote position requires a deep understanding of adult learning principles, multimedia development, and e-learning best practices. You will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to transform complex information into high-quality, interactive courses and learning materials accessible to a global audience. The ideal candidate is passionate about education, possesses strong technical skills, and excels in a remote work environment.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop engaging online courses, e-learning modules, and other digital learning assets using various authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate). Collaborate closely with SMEs to analyze learning needs, define learning objectives, and develop curriculum content. Translate instructional design concepts into effective learning experiences, incorporating multimedia elements, simulations, and interactive activities. Ensure all learning materials adhere to established instructional design standards, accessibility guidelines (WCAG), and brand consistency. Develop assessments, quizzes, and evaluations to measure learning effectiveness and knowledge retention. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and online learning. Facilitate the review and feedback process with stakeholders, incorporating revisions as needed. Create visual aids, graphics, and other multimedia content to enhance learning experiences. Contribute to the continuous improvement of instructional design processes and templates. Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and SMEs in a remote setting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Instructional Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful e-learning projects. Proficiency in industry-standard authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate). Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM compliance. Solid understanding of adult learning theories (e.g., ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy) and instructional design models. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. Strong visual design and multimedia development skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines in a remote environment. Experience with video editing software and graphic design tools is a plus. Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) for digital content. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning.
