Role Description Wiser is looking for qualified candidates with a basic understanding of geographic information systems (GIS). Comprehensive training is provided on the software, GIS, and source materials needed to complete the work. Apprentices work as a team to collect, maintain, analyze, and interpret geographic information as needed for our clients. Responsibilities • Perform digital feature extraction from multiple data sources • Attribute digital data accurately • Understand and follow project specific guidance • Independently use technical resource and guidance documents • Clean geographic data errors and omissions • Apply cartographic editing techniques to include feature displacement, thinning, symbolization, and annotation • Suggest and implement improved work methods Minimum Qualifications • U.S. Citizen • Basic familiarity with ArcGIS or GIS software. • Workspace which is suitable for remote work with high-speed internet and multiple monitors. A laptop will be provided. • Ability to self-lead using customer guidance • Ability to meet production deadlines with minimal errors • Ability to communicate with a diverse team of people Work Environment • Work is performed remotely, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).
