Position Overview: What You Will Do

As a Store Consultant at arenaflex, you will consistently deliver a positive customer experience to all patrons, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This customer-service-focused role requires someone who is knowledgeable across all areas of our business, including print services, signs and graphics, and shipping solutions.

You will be responsible for taking orders, coordinating activities within the store, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate arenaflex products and services tailored to each customer's unique requirements. Additionally, you will operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment, move boxes and supplies, manage the production queue and output, handle complex projects, stock retail supplies, and complete all assigned tasks based on priority.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

People and Team Collaboration

  • Follow instructions of supervisors and assist other team members in performing store functions to ensure seamless operations
  • Participate in the training and onboarding of new store team members, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of excellence
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive and productive work environment

Customer Service Excellence

  • Demonstrate consultative behaviors in a retail environment to understand each customer's individualized needs
  • Provide expert customer guidance in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines, recommending appropriate arenaflex products and services
  • Deliver an outstanding customer service experience by using consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions to meet their requirements
  • Ensure all customer problems are resolved quickly and to the complete satisfaction of the customer
  • Take complex customer orders using order systems and provide accurate pricing information
  • Build lasting relationships with customers through consistent, high-quality service

Shipping and Logistics

  • Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping by wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels
  • Process shipments efficiently while ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations
  • Help customers select the most appropriate shipping options based on their needs and budget

Print and Production Operations

  • Set up and operate printing, binding, and other related equipment using customer-supplied original media and documents
  • Manage the production queue and output to ensure timely completion of all orders
  • Maintain equipment in optimal working condition through regular cleaning and minor repairs
  • Ensure high-quality output by carefully reviewing print jobs for accuracy and completeness

Retail Store Management

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail store environment that reflects our brand standards
  • Process financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change accurately
  • Clean, repair, and stock all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance and availability
  • Stay current on retail store merchandising materials and ensure proper display of all retail area products and signage
  • Take preemptive action to prevent errors and waste, contributing to operational efficiency
  • Complete required financial paperwork and assist with financial reporting, including daily sales, close-outs, and bank deposits

Compliance and Self-Management

  • Ensure confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages
  • Follow arenaflex standard operating procedures as well as adhering to legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies and procedures
  • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Look for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the retail store environment
  • Able to operate with minimal supervision while still being a collaborative team player
  • Adhere to all arenaflex team member and retail store standards as outlined in the team member handbook
  • Complete all other duties as needed or required

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Six or more months of specialized experience in a retail, customer service, or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • For new hires, must meet all arenaflex employment qualifications in force at the time of hiring
  • For current arenaflex team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service leadership role
  • Familiarity with printing equipment and shipping services
  • Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions with accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
  • Experience in training or mentoring other team members

Essential Functions and Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to perform the following functions on a consistent basis:

  • Stand during the entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods
  • Move and lift up to 55 pounds
  • Bend and twist at the waist and knees as needed for various tasks
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
  • Perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
  • Function in a fast-paced environment under substantial pressure
  • Maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
  • Work with minimal supervision while exercising good judgment
  • Report regularly to work and maintain established business hours to support the arenaflex business
