Position Overview

arenaflex is currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher specializing in Touch Systems and Data Entry to join our virtual learning community. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of professionals in the field of business technology, data management, and administrative services.

As a CTE Teacher at arenaflex, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality instruction in touch systems (keyboard proficiency) and data entry to students in a virtual classroom setting. You will play a critical role in helping students develop essential computer skills, improve their typing speed and accuracy, and understand the fundamentals of data management that are vital in today's technology-driven workplace.

This position requires a teacher who is not only knowledgeable in their subject matter but also adept at using technology to create dynamic, interactive learning experiences. You will work closely with students, parents, learning coaches, and colleagues to ensure academic success and foster a love for learning that extends beyond the virtual classroom.

Key Responsibilities

As a CTE Teacher specializing in Touch Systems and Data Entry at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of responsibilities that contribute to student success and program excellence:

  • Instructional Excellence: Design and deliver rich, engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles and ensure student mastery of touch typing and data entry concepts.

  • High Expectations: Demonstrate an unwavering belief in all students' ability to succeed and hold them to high expectations while providing the support they need to meet those standards.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Effectively differentiate instruction based on each student's level of mastery, ensuring progressive skill development in typing speed, accuracy, and data management.
  • Curriculum Enhancement: Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures, utilizing appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from school leadership.
  • Academic Integrity: Maintain a comprehensive grade book that ensures academic integrity, make informed student placement and promotion decisions, and promptly alert administrators to concerns about student performance or progress.
  • Test Preparation: Prepare students thoroughly for high-stakes standardized tests and certification assessments, ensuring they are well-equipped to demonstrate their competencies.
  • Family Engagement: Establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with families, regularly communicating with and responding to students, learning coaches, and parents in a timely and professional manner.
  • Parent Support: Support learning coaches and parents with student curricular and instructional issues, as well as basic troubleshooting in the virtual classroom environment, aligning with arenaflex policies and procedures.
  • Standards Compliance: Maintain and effectively apply knowledge of State, National, and Industry-Specific learning standards, ensuring curriculum alignment and regulatory compliance.
  • Resource Development: Develop effective instructional tools and strategies to supplement and enhance the provided curriculum, creating additional learning opportunities for students.
  • Professional Collaboration: Collaborate regularly with the school and national professional learning community to share best practices, participate in professional development, and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Certification Administration: Administer and proctor certification assessments where applicable, ensuring proper testing protocols are followed.
  • Student Organization Leadership: Serve as an Advisor for Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO), providing mentorship and guidance to students pursuing leadership development.
  • Industry Partnerships: Support the CTE Program Coordinator and school in creating business and industry partnerships to help navigate work-based learning experiences for students, bridging the gap between education and employment.
  • Project-Based Learning: Support and implement a project-based learning model that allows students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios.
  • Professional Travel: Travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and other requirements as directed by the school.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Active state teaching license (or ability to obtain and maintain one).
  • Background Check: Ability to clear all required background checks as mandated by state regulations and arenaflex policy.
  • Data Proficiency: Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions.
  • Professional Development: Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers to continuously improve instructional practices.
  • Adaptability: Ability to embrace change and adapt quickly to ensure excellent student outcomes in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create instructional materials and analyze data effectively.
  • Technology Adoption: Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms, staying current with educational technology trends.
  • Certification Maintenance: Ability to maintain teacher certification and complete required professional development hours, demonstrating fluency in K-12 systems, programs, and curriculum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with the proposed age group in an educational setting.
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology, demonstrating patience and strong communication skills.
