Position Overview: Passenger Service Agent

As a Passenger Service Agent at aren't you ready to Join arenaflex, you'll be the face of our airline partners and the first point of contact for passengers embarking on their journeys. This critical role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You'll play a vital role in ensuring passengers have a smooth, positive experience from check-in to boarding.

Our Passenger Service Agents are responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while handling the essential operational tasks that keep flights running on time. You'll work closely with flight crews, ground handling teams, and airport vendors to coordinate seamless operations. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy problem-solving, thrive in social environments, and take satisfaction from helping others.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our passenger services team, you will be expected to:

  • Passenger Check-In: Efficiently check in passengers and their luggage at the ticket counter and gates, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Baggage Handling: Manage the check-in, tagging, and routing of passenger luggage with precision and care to ensure bags reach their correct destinations.
  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Patiently handle customer concerns and complaints regarding ticketing, baggage handling, and flight disruptions with professionalism and empathy.
  • Information Desk Duties: Knowledgeably answer inquiries regarding flight schedules, fares, policies, and other questions as they arise.
  • Gate Announcements: Make clear, professional announcements at the gate over the general PA system regarding flight activity, delays, gate changes, and boarding procedures.
  • Flight Coordination: Serve as the communication hub, responsible for all flight movement messages between the gate, ground handling team, flight crew, and airport vendors.
  • Seat Assignment: Assist passengers with seat assignments, upgrades, and special requests while maximizing aircraft capacity.
  • Boarding Procedures: Manage the boarding process efficiently, including verifying boarding passes, managing standby lists, and coordinating special assistance passengers.
  • Operational Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, security procedures, and regulatory requirements governing airport and airline operations.
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve issues before they escalate, ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Age Requirement: Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Education: Possess a High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with passengers, team members, and station leadership.
  • Computer Proficiency: Have proficient computer skills including experience with reservation systems, Microsoft Office applications, and data entry.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for some airport locations).
  • Background Check: Be able to pass a comprehensive drug screen and obtain airport security clearance which includes an extensive 10-year employment, criminal record, and residence background check.
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, as airlines operate 24/7, 365 days a year.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application:

  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or aviation industries.
  • Knowledge of airline operations, reservation systems, and airport procedures.
  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual capabilities.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
  • Experience handling difficult customer situations with professionalism and tact.

Physical Requirements

This role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout your shift. Please carefully review the following requirements:

  • Lifting Ability: Lift up to 70 pounds (32 kg) on a regular basis, including luggage, cargo, and ground support equipment.
  • Mobility: Stand, lift, bend, push, and pull on a frequent basis and for extended periods throughout your shift.
  • Environmental Conditions: Work around jet and machinery noises in both indoor terminal environments and outdoor ramp areas.
  • Physical Endurance: Be capable of working on your feet for extended periods, often in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Communication Equipment: Must be able to effectively use radio communication devices and hear announcements in busy airport environments.
