What We're Looking For

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Chat Moderator to help us maintain the highest standards of community conduct on our official Discord server. This is a part-time, remote position that offers flexible hours, making it perfect for students, parents, or anyone looking to supplement their income with meaningful work that can be done from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities

As a Chat Moderator at arenaflex, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our Discord community remains a positive and safe environment for all members. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Message Management: Reviewing and deleting messages that violate our community guidelines and server rules. You will need to exercise excellent judgment to determine what constitutes a violation while maintaining the flow of positive conversation.
• User Enforcement: Issuing bans to users who have demonstrated repeated or severe violations of our server policies. This requires a balanced approach – firm enough to maintain order, yet fair and consistent in application.
• Temporary Restrictions: Muting users who have violated rules but whose infractions may not warrant a permanent ban. You will determine appropriate mute durations based on the severity and frequency of violations.
• Report Investigation: Carefully reviewing and investigating reports submitted by community members about potential rule violations. This involves gathering evidence, interviewing involved parties when necessary, and making informed decisions about appropriate actions.
• Community Engagement: While moderation is your primary focus, you will also play a role in fostering a positive community atmosphere by assisting new members, answering questions when appropriate, and helping to promote community events.
• Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of all moderation actions taken, including warnings issued, bans enacted, and the reasoning behind each decision.
• Collaboration: Working closely with other moderation team members and leadership to discuss complex situations, share best practices, and ensure consistency across all moderation activities.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age or older. This is a firm requirement due to the nature of the responsibilities involved.
• Education: Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. This demonstrates the basic educational foundation necessary for the role.
• Technical Proficiency: Must have a solid understanding of Discord's platform, including its features, moderation tools, and user interface. Familiarity with Discord's desktop and mobile applications is essential.
