Contract Animator & Producer - Social Good Storyteller

Show the Good [showthegood.com] works with cause-based organizations to shape and share stories through strategic consulting, captivating video and animation, photography, memorable design and events. We are looking for an experienced, creative, compassionate animator and producer to join our team for a temporary contract engagement. This role is a defined-term position covering a planned leave of absence, with an anticipated duration of 3.5 months starting May 18, 2026. There is a possibility the term will be extended by 1 month or more. They will create illustration and animation work in collaboration with our team, while also supporting production, narrative development, and client relationships. We are looking for a unique talent who will put their heart into telling our clients’ stories. This person will report directly to the Founder of Show the Good who leads all storytelling work for our projects. You might be a great fit if this sounds like you: • Adaptive illustrator • Animation enthusiast • Natural storyteller • Strong aesthetic sense • Imaginative and idea-driven • Organized project manager and problem solver • Creative, curious, and collaborative • Able to think big while paying attention to the details • People-oriented and a strong relationship builder • Thoughtful listener and clear communicator Hard skills: • 3+ years of experience in illustration and animation with a portfolio that includes character animation • Experience creating and producing video and animation projects • Professional knowledge of Adobe Suite (especially Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop) • Professional knowledge of illustration software (Procreate, Photoshop or equivalent) • Solid illustration and animation skills • Solid aesthetic instincts • Basic understanding of information design • Experience working with remote production teams • Pre-production management experience with knowledge of project tracking tools a plus • Bonus: graphic design experience, video editing experience, sound editing skills, color correction knowledge, advanced illustration skills, multilingual design skills More about the work: • Collaborating daily with Show the Good’s Founder and our Producer/Editor to create high-quality illustration and animation work for our clients • Creating original illustrations and animating videos based on pre-approved style frames • Jumping into a producer role at various times to help move projects forward • Tracking timelines and schedules for clients and project teams; keeping everyone accountable to deadlines • Collaborating during motion concepting phases to help shape how stories come to life on screen • Creating text graphics and subtitles for documentary-style video projects • Reviewing final pieces for quality and impact; guiding clients through the review process and translating feedback into clear next steps for the team • File and archive organization, subtitling Job Information: • Part-time, remote (candidate must be based in the continental United States) • 20-30 hours/week • Flexible schedule – with some pre-determined meeting times • $50+/hour – final salary will be reflective of relevant experience and skills • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States Show the Good is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
