**Job Summary**
As a Senior Manager, Customer Claims and Insurance, you'll be responsible for managing our global insurance-related functions, including risk analysis, financial analysis, and reporting on risk functions. You'll lead a team of experienced professionals, overseeing the development and implementation of policies and programs to mitigate risk and ensure compliance. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our claims process, managing Shippers Interest/Declared Value programs, and setting insurance revenue and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Manage risk profile, insurance renewal functions, and claims functions, including customer inventory and cargo loss and damage claims, errors and omissions claims, property claims, and third-party liability claims outside of the US and Canada.
* Oversee the customer-focused Shipper's Interest program and Declared Value solutions.
* Manage at least 2 full-time exempt direct reports, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure their success.
* Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the department, developing and implementing policies and programs as necessary.
* Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring compliance and addressing variances and other budget concerns.
* Manage global insurance-related functions, including insurance renewals, risk analysis, financial analysis, and reporting on risk functions.
* Manage claims process with internal department employees and outside claims adjusters and insurers.
* Manage Shippers Interest/Declared Value programs and processes with internal departments and customers.
* Set insurance revenue and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals, as appropriate.
* Manage global vendor risk assessment and insurance verification process.
* Manage corporate and international surety bonds.
* Perform various system updates and data loads as required by the business or other supported areas.
* Assess company risk and opportunities, executing action plans to mitigate risk and drive growth.
* Contract Reviews and coordination with legal on negotiations relating to insurance, liability, and claims provisions in contracts.
* Project-related tasks, including new ventures and specialized risk evaluations.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
**Education and Experience Requirements**
* Bachelor's degree in risk management, Business, Finance, or related field preferred, or high school diploma or GED with 10 years of relevant experience.
* Insurance Designation is preferred (such as Associates in Claims AIC, or associate in risk management (ARM), or equivalent designation).
* Five years (5) of risk management or similar financial field experience.
* Freight forwarding and customs brokerage experience is preferred.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with strong Excel skills preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong data and analytical skills, including understanding financial data.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Prior claims experience in liability and property lines of business.

**Preferred Qualifications**
* Will also oversee Safety Team that is responsible for safe operations, including vehicle, facility, employee, dangerous goods, operations, and fire prevention.

**Compensation and Benefits**
* $82,476.00-$187,788.00 Annually
* Eligible employees receive health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
* Additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential may be available.
