In Mkt Business Consulting Group, we are looking for our client, an important company from New York, US • Ruby+SQL Engineer Sr. – Importante Empresa en New York (Remote | USD) Requirements: ✅ Previous experience in projects involving accounting systems, Financial reporting systems, Tax engines, or Ledger-based systems. ✅ Solid backend experience with Ruby ✅ Strong SQL & Data Modeling skills (CRITICAL): ✔️ Experience designing database schemas from scratch ✔️ Models relationships (one-to-many, many-to-many) ✔️ Uses foreign keys appropriately ✔️ Applies normalization principles ✔️ Understands indexes and constraints ✔️ Ensures data integrity ✔️ Handles sensitive data appropriately ✅ Ability to clearly explain solutions ✅ Product Thinking (VERY IMPORTANT): ✔️ Focus on building real-world features, not just writing code ✔️ Experience designing features end-to-end ✔️ Considers edge cases and potential failures Bonus Skills: ✅ Experience with external APIs ✅ Experience with Rails Note: The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Ruby, Rails, and SQL, combined with real-world exposure to accounting workflows such as general ledger processing, tax logic, and financial system integrations. This is not a pure fintech theory role — it requires practical experience building systems that interact with accounting platforms and process structured financial data across multiple regions.
