Senior Database Administrator, SQL

Job Description: • Administer, monitor, and maintain MS SQL Server and MongoDB or Oracle or PostgreSQL databases. • Implement data backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. • Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. • Enforce database security measures to safeguard sensitive data. • Implement and manage user access and roles to ensure compliance with security policies. • Work with development teams to design and implement database solutions that support application requirements. • Collaborate with IT teams in managing database changes and upgrades. • Set up and utilize monitoring tools to track database performance and address bottlenecks. • Generate reports on system performance, availability, and other relevant metrics. • Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including patching and updates for both MS SQL Server and MongoDB or Oracle Or PostgreSQL. • Evaluate and recommend improvements for database architecture and software tools. Requirements: • 5-7 years of experience in database administration, specifically with MS SQL Server and MongoDB or Oracle or PostgreSQL. • Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, and replication strategies. • Proficiency in Oracle database management, including Oracle RAC and Data Guard. • Experience with MongoDB/SQL Server/PostgreSQL deployment and management tools. • Familiarity with database monitoring tools and best practices. • Knowledge of agility tools such as Version1. • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow. • Experience with Datadog monitoring. • Cloud-based database administration experience with Azure or Amazon AWS. • Familiarity with ITIL practices. • Proficiency in Python and PowerShell scripting.
