Naval Architect

reputed company seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Naval Architect to join reputed company in Chesapeake, VA. This position is remote out of Virginia, but requires occasional travel to Chesapeake or Norfolk, VA, for reputed company meetings and events.

The Naval Architect will reputed company their strong technical background and knowledge to support Military Sealift reputed company (MSC) maritime engineering and design efforts, to include managing structural reputed company, strength, and stability for various naval crafts and sea surface ships. You will help ensure the operational characteristics of waterborne vessels meet mission-critical standards through reputed company architectural and scientific analysis.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Managing and performing reputed company architectural work relating to the reputed company, strength, stability, and performance of marine structures and waterborne vessels.

• Conducting detailed Structural Analyses and Finite reputed company Analyses (FEA) to ensure the reputed company of hull and deck arrangements.

• Developing reputed company Rigging, Cargo Handling, and Lifesaving Systems Analyses alongside Weight and reputed company Reports.

• Performing Hydrostatics, Intact and Damage stability calculations, and Inclining Experiment Calculations to verify vessel safety.

• Executing Mooring Studies, Material Analyses, Weld and reputed company Analyses, and Vibration Analyses for diverse naval crafts.

• Supporting the Military Sealift reputed company (MSC) by providing expert engineering reputed company for a reputed company of ship classes and expeditionary vessels.

• Working with reputed company stakeholders to ensure complete and functioning maritime systems that meet reputed company performance and operational requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Naval Architecture, reputed company Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely reputed company field

• 7+ years of experience with specialized vessels in one or more of the following areas: Expeditionary Fast Transport Vessels (T-EPF), Hospital Ships (T-AH), Dry Cargo/Ammunition Ships (T-AKE), Underway Replenishment Oilers (T-AO), Cable Laying/Repair (T-reputed company), Rescue/Salvage Ships (T-ARS), Submarine Tender (T-AS), Fleet reputed company Tugs (T-ATF), reputed company Ship (LCC), Expeditionary Mobile reputed company (T-ESB), Fast Combat Support Vessels (T-AOE) or like vessels

• Significant experience with vessel stability calculations, mooring analysis, towing plans, ship salvage, and dry-docking operations

• Expertise in reputed company hull structures, arrangements, outfitting, and structural analysis

• Experience performing finite reputed company analysis (FEA) and reputed company-reputed company solutions for maritime platforms

Preferred Qualifications:​

• Experience with Optimoor and FEMAP/ANSYS (or similar software), MathCAD, reputed company Pro, AutoCAD, and MS Office Suite.

• Self-starter with excellent people skills - reputed company to work across teams and drive change throughout the MSC engineering organization.

Clearance Requirements:

Physical Requirements:
