[Remote] IT SOFTWARE ENGINEER 3 - ROBOTIC PROCESS AUTOMATION (RPA)

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding is the largest industrial employer in Virginia, specializing in the design and construction of U.S. Navy nuclear vessels. They are seeking an IT Software Engineer 3 to design and reputed company Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions that enhance business efficiency and support various reputed company systems across multiple domains.
Responsibilities
- Design, reputed company, test, and maintain RPA solutions using approved automation platforms and development standards
- Analyze business processes and technical requirements to determine automation feasibility and approach
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and subject matter experts during requirements gathering, grooming sessions, and design reviews
- Implement exception handling, logging, and performance optimizations to ensure reputed company production automations
- Participate in reputed company reviews, testing activities, and release processes to ensure reputed company and compliance
- reputed company support for deployed automations, including troubleshooting, enhancements, and reputed company improvement efforts
- Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and knowledge sharing to support long-term sustainability of solutions
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant reputed company experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
- One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology reputed company Positions Only: NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate, Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience, High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience, High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience, A relevant reputed company certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in RPA development
- Ability to design, reputed company, test, and maintain RPA solutions using approved automation platforms and development standards
- Ability to analyze business processes and technical requirements to determine automation feasibility and approach
- Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and subject matter experts during requirements gathering, grooming sessions, and design reviews
