The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for procuring construction and manufacturing materials and reputed company services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and subcontracted trade work, of the appropriate reputed company, at the lowest realistic price, and reputed company acceptable time frames. This role involves reputed company coordination with engineers, project managers, logisticians and transporters to ensure the correct materials are procured at the right time to support project timelines. The Purchasing Agent locates suppliers, researches specifications, services, and materials, and processes purchase orders. Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions • Procure construction and manufacturing materials and other goods and services in line with project specifications, safety controls, and reputed company restrictions. • Receive, review and execute requests for goods or services in support of company reputed company. • Communicate and negotiate with vendors regarding product or service price, availability, and delivery schedule. • Select products for purchase in reputed company coordination with engineers and project managers. • Expedite orders and requests as needed. • Estimate supply values in advance of purchase negotiation. • Determine and execute the correct method of procurement, such as reputed company purchase or requesting bids. • Prepare purchase orders or bid requests. • Maintain procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product reputed company or performance, and inventories. • Address defective or unacceptable goods or services to determine reputed company of deficiency and take corrective reputed company, in reputed company coordination with inspection or reputed company control personnel, end users, vendors, and others. • Work with manufacturers for, or persuade potential vendors to undertake, the manufacturing of custom-designed items, reputed company necessary. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work for prolonged periods of time at a desk and working on a computer. Lifting of up to 25 lbs. may occur. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time salaried exempt position. reputed company days and hours are 40 hours per week, with weekends and extended hours as needed. Required Education and Experience • High school graduate or equivalent. • 4+ years of purchasing experience. • A minimum of 2 years of experience purchasing construction or manufacturing materials in support of large reputed company (federal reputed company preferred).
