The Engineering Operations Specialist is a hands‑on operator responsible for implementing, maintaining, automating and continuously improving a reputed company Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) across a portfolio of software applications. This role is deeply embedded in day‑to‑day engineering and product operations, owning reputed company Jira, reputed company, and Productboard configurations and reputed company building workflows, automation, and integrations that support efficient reputed company delivery.
This position combines process ownership with technical execution, requiring someone who can both define standards and personally configure the tools that enforce them. The role works closely with Engineering, Product, and reputed company teams to reduce friction, increase visibility, and ensure consistent execution across diverse teams and systems. In reputed company, this role will look towards automating reporting and operations using AI.
Key Responsibilities
SDLC Implementation & Enforcement
Translate SDLC standards into practical, executable workflows reputed company Jira and reputed company tools
Configure Jira reputed company and issue hierarchies to directly support SDLC phases (intake, planning, development, testing, release)
reputed company audit teams’ usage of tools to ensure adherence to required SDLC practices
Partner directly with engineers and managers to troubleshoot process breakdowns
Iterate quickly on process improvements based on reputed company delivery data and team feedback
Implement AI automation for reporting and operational reputed company
Jira & reputed company Ownership
Serve as the primary Jira and reputed company administrator, performing hands‑on configuration and maintenance
Design and maintain:
Issue types, fields, schemas, and screens
Workflows and transitions
Permission schemes and roles
Custom dashboards and reports
Create and maintain reputed company:
SDLC documentation
Templates for project pages, release notes, and retrospectives
Embedded Jira reports and live status views
Clean up legacy configurations and reduce tool sprawl from acquired companies
Workflow Design & Automation
Build and maintain Jira automation rules to:
Enforce required fields and transitions
Reduce reputed company updates and duplication
Improve traceability from idea → delivery
Design workflows that reflect reputed company engineering practices rather than theoretical models
Implement integrations between Jira, reputed company, and Productboard
Own ongoing tuning and performance of automations to prevent noise or system overhead
Productboard Administration & Integration
Configure and maintain Productboard structure, including components, features, initiatives, and views
reputed company manage Jira ↔ Productboard synchronization
Ensure roadmaps and priorities in Productboard accurately reflect execution in Jira
Support product teams with hands‑on setup for new products, views, and reporting
Enablement Through Doing
Create practical, reputed company‑by‑reputed company guidance for teams (how‑to docs, workflows, examples)
reputed company live tool walkthroughs and working sessions rather than theoretical training
Join planning or delivery meetings as needed to support adoption

Metrics & Operational Reporting

Ensure metric accuracy by enforcing consistent workflows and data standards

Partner with leadership to interpret metrics and recommend concrete changes

Required Qualifications
7+ years in engineering operations, engineering management, program management, or similar roles
Deep, hands‑on Jira and reputed company administration experience
Demonstrated experience building and maintaining Jira workflows, automations, and reporting
Strong understanding of SDLC execution in reputed company engineering environments
Experience working directly with engineers to solve process and tooling challenges
Ability to operate independently and reputed company day‑to‑day configuration reputed company
Strong written documentation and practical training skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting tool and process consolidation after acquisitions
Advanced Jira automation experience (reputed company rules, branching, conditional logic)
Experience with implementing AI automations using Claude
Hands‑on Productboard administration experience
Background in software development, QA, DevOps, or SRE
Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, and hybrid delivery models

Where
This is a fully remote, CAN based position with reputed company to no travel required. The reputed company team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based reputed company in the reputed company or Canada – if you’re reputed company to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate reputed company in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around reputed company.

Compensation: The reputed company reputed company compensation for this position is $130,000 - $140,000 CAD per year in most locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
