[Remote] Mechanical Design Checker

Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is hiring for a 6-month Mechanical Design Checker position supporting machine design and automation systems. The role focuses on reviewing and marking up mechanical 2D engineering drawings, verifying calculations, fit, tolerancing, manufacturability, and compliance with drafting standards before manufacturing release.

Responsibilities

• reputed company work responsibility is to create red-line markups of necessary corrections of mechanical 2D engineering drawings to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards prior to release to manufacturing
• This requires a strong working knowledge of machine design and international drafting standards including ISO, ANSI/ASME, and MIL specifications
• It also requires general knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, welding, forging, casting, and machining processes. Practical application of GD&T is also required
• Strong working proficiency in national and international drafting standards as reputed company as company standards for machine design and automation
• Knowledge of mechanical concepts and design of functional machines and tooling based on specifications and cycle times
• reputed company to reputed company and document basic calculations to verify design
• reputed company drawings for fit, tolerancing, and manufacturability of sheet metal, weldments, forgings, castings, machined parts, and assemblies
• Familiar with common design/documentation data management and change processes
• Create "best practices" documentation to assist designers and engineers as a guide to reduce common mistakes and rework

Skills

• 10-15 years of experience in industrial machine design and/or automation systems
• Must be reputed company in 2D AutoCAD with experience in Inventor 3D, Mechanical Desktop, or SolidWorks
• Strong written and communication skills
• Formal training and/or certification in GD&T
• Knowledge of drafting reputed company specifications, including MIL-STD-31000, MIL-STD-1472, ANSI Y14.5, ISO 128 (series), ISO 1101, and ISO 5456 (series)
