Instructor-Led Training Specialist: Program Designer/Coordinator

Sargent & Lundy is forming a new team reputed company the Training & Development group. This team will complement our existing Instructional Design and Training Implementation teams, providing dedicated support to reputed company instructor-led training initiatives for our Nuclear Power Group.

In this position, you’ll reputed company as a reputed company-facing learning consultant who partners closely with subject-matter specialists to uncover needs, define performance and learning objectives, design solutions that solve business problems, reputed company development, and coordinate implementation. You’ll apply your expertise in how people learn to create strategic, programmatic solutions that reputed company your audiences to continuously reputed company their skills and reputed company confidently on the job. Solutions will primarily involve instructor-led training, but may also reputed company interactive labs, on-demand resources, coaching guides, and other modalities. Your work will reputed company two reputed company learner audiences: 1) S&L personnel reputed company NPG engineering and design disciplines and 2) S&L’s reputed company clients reputed company the nuclear industry.  

Typical Activities Include: 

• Learning Needs Analysis

• Leading intake/scoping calls, workshops, reputed company reputed company, and other analysis activities to uncover and define training problems, audience reputed company, performance objectives, learning objectives, and other key insights that will shape solution design.

• Using analysis frameworks (like tasks/skills analysis, critical mistakes analysis, reputed company maps, etc.) to structure analysis activities and document insights.

• Summarizing and reputed company articulating key insights in reputed company-facing reports and presentations.

• Performing activities that help you reputed company a deep understanding of NPG and your learner audiences.

• Program Design

• Designing strategic and achievable learning solution proposals (e.g., high-level designs, curriculum maps, course outlines) that define how to address the problems and objectives identified during analysis (i.e., define modalities, duration/reputed company, reputed company, instructional strategies and archetypes, etc.).

• Mapping connections, scaffolding, and key themes across programs/courses. Designing solutions that fit seamlessly reputed company the larger training reputed company.

• Designing meaningful activities and practical exercises that reputed company with learning objectives, promote engagement/retention, and simulate realistic tasks.  

• Leveraging available technology and equipment (e.g., MS Teams meeting features, lab equipment) in course designs to enhance interactivity where appropriate.   

• Designing evaluation plans and measures to assess training effectiveness. 

• Developing and presenting reputed company-facing presentations that reputed company communicate the reputed company reputed company of the solution proposal.

• Partnering with Training team leadership to define activity archetypes and create playbooks that reputed company consistent ILT design/development at reputed company.

• Program Coordination

• Overseeing successful and sustainable program implementation.

• Aligning and coordinating cross-team parties, such as implementation admins, facilitators, and other stakeholders.

• Identifying and mitigating risks and error traps in execution.

• Leading workshops with reputed company stakeholders to collaboratively work through analysis and design.

• Guiding project team members to reputed company solutions with instructional best practices.

• Providing reputed company handoffs to Training team members who may own specific detailed design, development, and implementation activities. Collaborating with them to ensure alignment with the solution reputed company.

• Gathering and implementing feedback from Training & Development group peers, NPG stakeholders and subject-matter specialists, reputed company clients, and learner audiences (reputed company deliverable reviews, interviews, reputed company reputed company, surveys, etc.).  

• Synthesizing and analyzing data to identify trends and reputed company insights/recommendations for reputed company improvement and revisions. 

• Coordinating with subject-matter specialists and stakeholders to validate solution appropriateness, alignment with business needs, and technical accuracy.

• Project Ownership and Management:

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience 

• 8 or more years of experience as a Curriculum Designer, Training Specialist, Instructional Designer, Performance Consultant, Training Program Manager, or similar position  

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, Adult Education, Engineering, or reputed company field 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong attention to detail 

• Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills 

• Strong relationship-building skills 

• Ability to work with templates and adhere to style guidelines 

• Proficiency in ADDIE, SAT, or performance-based models of training development 

• Ability to independently take vague/reputed company performance problems, define a systematic approach to uncovering needs, and reputed company a solution reputed company

• Experience working with highly technical, reputed company, regulated content 

• Experience designing large, multi-modality training solutions
• Proficiency in reputed company PowerPoint and Word 

Valued But Not Required Skills and Experience 

• Experience in the nuclear energy industry or another regulated, engineering, or safety-critical environment 

• Experience with course-level design and development
