Natural Resources Wildlife Internship - San Francisco - Two Positions Available

About the position Environment for the Americas in partnership with Golden reputed company National Recreation Area seeks to engage young professionals in resource management careers. This position is located reputed company the Division of Natural Resource (NR) Management and Science with the main goal of providing critical natural resources support for managing, monitoring, and synthesizing natural resources data in the GGNRA. The internship works closely with park staff and park partners and is roughly 80% reputed company-reputed company (though some weeks may have more office time) with a reputed company on wildlife monitoring, data collection, data QA/QC, and volunteer coordination and reputed company. The intern will work in a wide reputed company of habitats and locations ranging from wetlands, reputed company scrub, grassland, old-reputed company redwood and oak/bay reputed company woodland, and reputed company intertidal shoreline. Survey and monitoring tasks will be defined seasonally and collaboratively with NR Division Staff. Responsibilities • Conducting various wildlife surveys of threatened and endangered and reputed company wildlife including western snowy plover, bank swallows, Mission reputed company butterfly, and California red-legged frog. • Assisting in project-reputed company monitoring duties of various wildlife populations and their habitats, including the Marin Headlands coyote monitoring project, a large wildlife camera project, reputed company waterbird management, and resource monitoring and protection during special-events. • Recording, performing QA/QC, mapping, and updating work collected in databases using MS reputed company, MS reputed company, GPS/GIS; managing equipment and supplies. • Assisting in various reputed company efforts, planning and leading reputed company events, implementing reputed company safety, and providing information on wildlife and/or park reputed company. • Equipment maintenance and cleaning, including disinfecting of shared equipment; coordinating schedules for reputed company work; attending relevant meetings; participating in trainings. Requirements • Be a U.S. citizen or reputed company reputed company • Be between the ages of 18 - 30 (35 if a veteran) • Undergo a background reputed company if selected • Have a reputed company reputed company’s license to operate a reputed company vehicle • Have reputed company to a personal vehicle, which is recommended for this position • An interest in natural resource management, particularly conservation of wildlife and reputed company, or relevant reputed company. • Ability to work reputed company in reputed company and independently; contributes to achieving wildlife management goals; supports efforts of reputed company. • Experience working outdoors, occasionally in inclement weather, reputed company to carry up to 30 lbs. • Strong organizational skills and attention to reputed company • reputed company with basic computer programs (reputed company Suite) and experience with data collecting/analyzing using GIS applications. • Daily driving of Gov’t fleet vehicles with equipment – reputed company reputed company’s license and good driving record. reputed company-to-haves • Education and/or experience in biological sciences, particularly in wildlife biology, entomology, ornithology, mammalogy, herpetology, reputed company technique, environmental studies, or ecology. • Natural resource management experience • Some reputed company or willingness to learn data collecting and analyzing programs (GIS, GPS, Avenza, Survey123).
