Sr. Retirement Plan Administrator, Total Rewards
As a member of the Total Rewards Team, the Senior Retirement Plan Administrator will partner in the administration and communication of company-wide retirement plan programs. This role supports all compliance aspects of Plan Administration including coordinating communication with internal team members, participants, and stakeholders to develop and direct the plan administration process, improving workflow processes, make program and policy changes, and meet regulatory requirements. The Senior Retirement Plan Administrator requires a strong working knowledge of benefits, policies, procedures, regulatory compliance, and maintains accurate records, processes and systems as well as communicates expectations and changes to the Total Rewards Team and employees throughout all areas in the company.

To give you an idea of the team structure, you will work on a team with benefits and compensation professionals, reporting to the Manager of Compensation.
Responsibilities
Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:
• Lead customer service efforts by assisting employees in understanding the company’s retirement benefit offerings and act as a liaison between Heartland Dental and third-party providers, as well as assisting employees in routine activities such as enrollment and eligibility questions, deferral election changes, and withdrawals and loans, as well as handling escalated issues.
• Remain up to date on compliance requirements and develop streamlined systems for tracking and administering, while working with counsel to assist with maintaining compliance and escalated issues.
• Maintain and update data for plans and participants in the record-keeping system, including HRIS and recordkeeper’s database.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with retirement plan vendors and advisors to ensure smooth plan administration and process improvements.
• Responsible for the accuracy of participant eligibility, loans, and deductions.
• Partner with key stakeholders to lead retirement plan audits to ensure that retirement plans are consistently administered and in compliance with Plan documents, internal audit and security requirements, service level agreements and relevant government regulations.
• Lead the coordination of the annual non-discrimination testing and gathering employee and financial data as required to allow completion of the annual audit and form 5500 filing.
• Coordinate efforts to examine retirement plan design strategies and workflows by working with applicable vendors and the retirement plan committee to review benchmarking data and industry best practices.
• Coordinate plan amendment requests to ensure proper documentation is on file for plan compliance.
• Maintain detailed records of Retirement Plan Committee meetings by creating meeting minutes and coordinating with Heartland’s fiduciary consultants.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• Five years of experience in Benefits, Human Resources, or related field with at least three years of experience with retirement plan administration.
• Strong knowledge of retirement plan administration and regulations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to work with co-workers in a collegial manner to accomplish common tasks
• High level of maturity, personal initiative, and sound judgement
Desirable Qualifications:
• Experience working with a Multiple Employer Plan.
• Experience using HRIS Systems
• SHRM- SCP, CP or SPHR, PHR certification
