Job Summary:
First Citizens Bank is committed to data integrity and governance, and they are seeking a Data Governance Adherence Evidence Analyst to join their Enterprise Data Governance team. This role focuses on designing and maintaining the data governance policy adherence evidence catalog, partnering with data control and reporting designers to ensure compliance with governance policies.
Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain the data governance policy adherence evidence catalog : Own the central repository that links every requirement to its approved evidence sources and metadata.
• Define the taxonomy of acceptable evidence, standardizing evidence artifacts : Create and govern a controlled vocabulary so all teams submit evidence in consistent, audit-ready formats.
• Map and onboard authoritative evidence sources : Work with system owners to document data paths, automate secure feeds and close coverage gaps so each evidence artifact has at least one validated source.
• Set and enforce evidence, retention and integrity rules : Align retention periods with legal, privacy, and audit requirements; implement immutable storage or checksum monitoring where needed.
• Support assurance cycles and audits : Pull risk-based samples verify artifact completeness, package evidence for internal and external reviewers, and feed lessons learned back into catalog and taxonomy updates.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Analytics, or Modeling, or Reporting OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Analytics, or Modeling, or Reporting
• 3+ years of experience in data governance, data risk, audit, or data control functions, ideally within a regulated industry
• Strong understanding of control and retention frameworks
• Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively
• Ability to influence and collaborate with key stakeholders
• Works well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
