Job Description

At United Airlines, we're committed to connecting people and uniting the world. Our CDR team is responsible for keeping our customers' and employees' information safe and secure. As a Senior Manager - Security Operations Center, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of cybersecurity professionals to achieve results and driving cross-functional initiatives to completion
  • Coaching and mentoring individuals at all levels of the organization to demonstrate tangible results and growth
  • Developing and scaling processes to drive operations and initiatives for Cybersecurity and Digital Risk
  • Defining and developing metrics programs to track maturity, evolution, and health of cybersecurity programs over time
  • Identifying opportunities to use and operationalize existing security investments and recommending new technologies to enhance our defenses
  • Collaborating with external partners, such as law enforcement, cyber insurers, and lawyers, as needed

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with 9+ years of work experience in IT, including at least 3 years in Cybersecurity and management
  • High sense of urgency, strong pragmatic problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems
  • Willingness to work on-call in support of 24x7 operation
  • Ability to define, build, and lead operational rhythms that ensure progress to the organization's shared goals
  • Skills to drive cross-functional initiatives to completion, preferably in complex business environments
  • Ability to communicate in a manner that is understandable by non-technical audiences

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or equivalent experience in STEM, 10+ years of experience in IT, including at least 5 in Cybersecurity, and certifications like PMP, CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
