Project Architect & Specification Writer - Remote Opportunity

As a key member of our team, you'll coordinate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other stakeholders to prepare project specifications for bidding and construction.

This role can be based in Cleveland, OH, Columbus, OH, New York, NY, or Washington, DC, and offers a hybrid work model with flexibility between office time and work from home.


Position Summary:

  • Coordinate with project teams to prepare project specifications for bidding and construction
  • Develop and manage project manuals for large and small projects
  • Stay current on product developments, new materials, code changes, and industry trends
  • Mentor and support other team members
  • Review drawings and schedules, identify design challenges, and propose technical solutions
  • Produce accurate documents aligned with firm standards
  • Prepare written Architectural Project Specifications/Project Manuals for Bidding and Construction
  • Required Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of architectural practice experience with 5+ years of experience writing architectural project specifications
    • Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited program
    • Construction Documents Technology (CDT) certification
    • Knowledge of applicable construction codes and procedures
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, AIA Contract Documents, and AIA MasterSpec

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional License/Registered Architect
    • Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) certification
    • LEED, WELL Accreditation
    • Experience with REVIT and CAD computer modeling and rendering software
