As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products and services, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.
Job Responsibilities:
- Define the testing strategy and approach to validate new or upgraded functionality implemented by teams
- Collaborate with colleagues to break down functional and non-functional requirements into test scripts and scenarios
- Determine test conditions, including QA test environment, QA tools, training, build and deployment plans, intra-team conditions, and communication processes
- Create and execute manual and automated test scripts to validate the acceptance criteria defined within the user stories and product backlog
- Identify opportunities impacting the timely delivery of a given product and collaborate with teams to plan mitigation strategies
- Execute smoke, functional, integration, and non-functional test scripts as part of the product/application delivery lifecycle
- Collaborate with teams to investigate the root cause of failed manual or automated test scripts
- Create defects with detailed information relating to the failed test/script with supporting documentation
- Collaborate with teams to identify existing manual and automated test scripts that will be impacted through the development of new features and capabilities
- Share feedback with teams relating to the quality of sprint expectations during reviews
- Manage the remediation of defects raised throughout the development lifecycle and create supporting quality reports that are communicated to stakeholders
Requirements:
- 2 years of current and relevant experience as a SDET in API/UI
- 2 years of automation and testing experience with XML and web services
- At least 2 years of development experience in any scripting language
- At least 2 years of experience in Microsoft SQL and/or T-SQL
- At least 2 years of experience in backend testing, writing SQL queries, and testing stored procedures
- Proficient with Agile testing methodologies and best practices in a SDET role
- Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a close team environment
- Computer science and engineering skills and equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps
- Experience working with Azure, Git, JDBC, Splunk
- Experience in Unit Testing frameworks like Junit/TestNG
- Experience with UI automation tools, ideally Selenium Web Driver
- Testing and automation experience with MS VSTS technology stack, including TFS, MTM, and Lab Center
- Tomcat/Apache knowledge
- Travel industry knowledge
- Computer science degree or experience working in IT Quality Assurance and Test Automation
